I am getting more and more clients calling me who are not married and have acquired assets, and frankly brought children into the world, and now are splitting up - or worse yet, lost a partner due to death. The disappointment upon realization that they are not protected in the same way as married couples is astonoshing. And I'm not even talking about the inequities suffered by same-sex couples.
